Introduction
Small Steps ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with your use of our routine-building application designed for young children.
Information We Collect
Local Data
All data you enter into Small Steps (including routine names, step names, emoji choices, completion state, and settings) is stored locally on your device only. This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not transmitted to our servers
- Is not shared with third parties
- Remains under your complete control
The app has no login, no account system, and no cloud sync. We do not collect, store, or process any personal information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information.
In-App Purchases
Small Steps offers a one-time Premium upgrade (29 DKK) that unlocks unlimited routines and removes the banner advertisement. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play Billing:
- We never see, receive, or store your payment details
- Google Play handles billing, refunds, and receipt verification
- The app only receives an acknowledgement that the purchase succeeded
- The premium-unlocked flag is stored locally on your device
Google's privacy policy applies to all data processed during the purchase flow.
Advertising Data (Free Version Only)
The free version of the app displays a single banner advertisement via Google AdMob on most screens (the routine screen itself is always ad-free). Premium users see no ads. AdMob may collect:
- Device advertising identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID on Android)
- IP address
- General location (country/region level only)
- Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
- Device information (model, OS version)
This data is collected by Google, not by us. We do not have direct access to advertising data on a per-user basis — only aggregated revenue and impression reports.
Analytics
The app does not include any first-party analytics SDK. The only telemetry comes from Google Play Services (built into Android), which may report basic install and crash information to Google.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- Advertising: To display the banner in the free version and support the app at no cost to users
- In-App Purchases: To unlock Premium features after a successful Google Play purchase
- App Stability: Aggregated crash data from Google Play helps us fix bugs in future releases
Children's Privacy
Small Steps is designed to be used by children with the help of a parent or guardian. The app itself collects no personal information about children. Setup, purchases, and configuration are intended to be performed by an adult.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

In short: Routines stay on your device. No login, no cloud sync, no first-party analytics. The free version shows a single Google AdMob banner (never on the kids' routine screen). One-time Premium removes that banner. Purchases are processed by Google Play — we never see your payment details.
